Topic: What could be the continuation of this opening?
I think it's called Queen's Gambit accepted

1. d4 d5
2. c4 dc
3. e4 b5

So, here black refuses to lose the extra pawn in c4. So, sometimes experimented players continue like this:

4. b3 a6
5. a4

What is the reason for White to play this?

Also, I'd like to know what would you do from move 3, after Black plays b5

Personally I play 3. Nc3 to prevent 3... b5.

The reason white plays 5. a4 is that she wants to undermine the pawns on black's queenside. But I do not belive that 3. e4 is a strong move. And 4. b3 is no good too because it leaves black the opportunity to play 5... e5! with the immanent threat 6...Bb4+, if white decide to take on e5.

3...b5 is a dubious move.
4.a4! with many continuations.
4.b3 is wrong...

You can play 4.a4. That's my favorite.
