charisma is nothing if your intentions aren't honourable. Charisma is a valuable asset for someone in an authority figure yes, but its a tool, and it can be either used for good or bad.

A good leader has to have charisma and his coworkers (soldiers, mates ...) will trust him because he's a strong reliable person who never lies.

Sorry for telling that, but where the hell have you seen a REAL leader, who was kind??
Being a leader requires a great brain power, he must know how to control ppl, how to make them do what is necessary to do. A strong person only can be a leader, giving his 'kindness' to you when its necessary again. "The darker shadows- the brighter light" U may not agree with me, but many men - many minds. My point of view. Posted by Ivol

well..i said GOOD leaders, lol. In my opinion, greatness is measured by kindness and true education and intellect by manners and modesty. There is also jesus as a leader that was kind.
In my opinion you shouldn't control or manipulate people into doing what you want to do. If you truly are great, people will rally around you and your cause willingly, without being influential or well spoken, thought it doesn't hurt. however a good heart is something you cant fake. and there are many forms of strength. Take a leader that is charismatic and has great brain power and is very influential, what happens if he fails, the people will either betray or disert, because he/she will not be considered strong because he/she failed. Take a leader that is kind and his/her ethics speak more than his/her mouth. If he/she fails his/her followers will pick him/her up because they will care about the individual. Even though if they are going through hell they will never sway or betray because they believe that the cause whatever it may be is just, because the person is honourable and kind. I am not nieve enough in thinking that kindness is enough, sometimes someone has to draw a sword first, a good leader will draw his/her sword first, because he/she will try to protect their followers from anything that is unnecsarily hurtful. Self sacrifice which turns sadness into wisdom, and in a way that is being kind as well. NEVER apologise for your opinions...unless the intentions are malicious, which i highly doubt :D Posted by Augustine Kim

kindness is great, flattery is useless, truth is never comfortable and i think we learn more when we are criticized.

the perfect leader, is insightfull and wise, truthfull, charismatic and accountable.
What is a more important quality of a leader, being knowledgeable or being respected? One would assume that being knowledgeable is the more important, but if you don't have respect people will not follow. Posted by Trevor
