Dear Mr./Mrs. Augustine

To answer your question I will say something that Plato used to say.

Law is defined to protect the powerful.

If someone commits a crime, it means he has disobayed the law and consequently the powerful.
He/She will be punished accordingly as the law says.

The opposit of the crime is moral code in philosophy.
Moral code is defined to tell the missery that if you are right in your act even though you are punished then stay humble untill the God helps you.

This satisfies the criminal (who actually was not considering himself a criminal).

What actual crime is?
This needs some more explanation.
The actual crime is the action that is not allowed by true human values.

For example, all we know that to take someone's belongings without telling or asking him/her is bad. If we take otherwise, then we are truely criminal, for that we did'nt obayed the true human value.

Now what should be the punishment for this action?
We simply have to return all his/her belongings back to him/her and appogise him/her and should confess that I'll never do this again.

Now if at one time he/she appologises and forgets againg or willingly do same thing again, then he/she (the thief) should be analysed before a pannel of people. Or for sometime he should be boycoted untill he truelly recognises that he was wrong.

its mr. :D
Very interesting thoughts, you'll have me thinking on that for a while...law is defined to protect the powerful..hmm
the question was what is the worst crime that one can commit to oneself not to another, for example, murder is betrayal to ones soul and lust is betrayal to ones heart.

I think the worst crime is suicide, u become the biggest coward in nature and the after death state is not pretty.... but my teachings also say there is hope for certain suicides, and even in many cases a reward if life was sacrificed to save other lives and that there was no other alternative for it.

Hi! I would like just to say that I find ridiculous the death punishement. What an arrogance to think they have the right to kill someone even if he/she killed hundreds of people! Could someone explain me what's the logic of fighting murder whith murder?

i agree with you, the death penalty is stupid, if anything a worser crime is to be able to live with the memories of your crime but human history has taught us nothing but violence. and its a very convenient excuse and hard lesson to forget.

I think possibly the worst thing a person can do to himself/herself is to be negative and adopt a pessimistic outlook in life.
If someone chooses to be pessimistic then no matter what happens in their life they'll never be content and always be complaining, thus they'll never be able to enjoy life and their life would be a misery.
