here in portugal 90% of christian actualy believe in evolution, even some erderly, because they say the bible has only old ideas and facts, some priests even believe in evolution! why some religious people ingores it?

I remember when I was young, there was a question on some paper asking whether we thought evolution should be taught in the schools. To my surprise, one of my very intelligent best friends answered "no." When I asked him why, he said, "because everyone knows evolution is the way it happens. It is just a waste of time to bother teaching it."
There are not too many people in the world who still believe in a literal interpretation of the bible any more. There is no point in trying to argue with those people who do. If they are happy with their beliefs, let them live in peace.

There is more de-evolution than evolution. What I mean by that is that most mutations are not progressive and functional but quite morbid. Hense our increasing need to rely on meds.

adding to it that 80 % of mutations are actually bad for you .......

in evolution ....i believe in one field of it....its the micro evolution ....this can be tested, and retested and analysed and seen ....so according to empiracle science...yup mocro evolution exists...

ofourse it always existed befoe the theory of evolution was presented..it have a different name thats all...

now macro evolution ? ...uuuhmmm...nope....this to me is rubbish ....utter nonsense with coloured graphs and fabulous animations showing how you were a fish billions of years ago ....

fossil proof is corrupt to the bone....thats apart from the forgeries that helped build up this idiocy .....

but ofcourse humans are very stupid sometimes...all humans...

i only need to show you an issue that is half right to convince you that the whole thing is right...

marketing people and sales would understand what im saying here....for selling a product or thought...i only need to grab your attention, and convince you that what im selling is correct, then when im in control....

i can tell you to go to hell in such a manner that you actually look forward for the trip : )

so now schooling is under the control of atheism ....it is only natural that evolution is taught....it cant be anything else....for if evolution is destroyed, it will create havoc amongst nations...amongst goverment and people....asking how on earth did you teach us all this rubbish, and convinced us that it is true when you know it isnt....?

so basically any drawback in evolution theory will quickly be silenced....as the nation cannot swallow such a massive punch if people really knew what evolution is based on ...

thats apart from it being a religion on its own ...:)

evolution is obviously a fact, though it doesn't mean that the concept of intelligent design is a fabrication... the problem with science and religion both is the lack of acceptance that both have their place respectively... we are either physical or spiritual in accordance with whatever side we're having our existence explained to us by.... even though it seems apparent that we have the capacity for both.

Shades, religion, Biblical characters of faith that is, never had an issue with science. In fact belief in an orderly universe with laws is a basis for scientific enquiry and as such assumption of a Creator was an important part of the scientific community up until the Darwin debate. Through the concept of evolution, Romulus, what exactly is being sold? Dinosaur bones? Prints in science books and magazines? It doesn't fetch the highest of profits, and if thats what they cared about, it would be easier to work in some criminal field.

We can't make macro-evolution happen, it's never been done and recorded in labs, but looking at the ranges of species that existed through their times, it seems apparent that they are changing over long periods. The more fossils are uncovered, the more works into the concept of evolution.
