Topic: Power Of Music !!
I believe Music does have some control over us...

Some people use it calm down .....

Others use music to increase their adrenaline rush ( for fights )

Others for heroic scenes...

Even Countries use anthems, and different music to move the people, whether in terms of defending a nation or superiority in self..

Can it be powerful enough to control what we think of people ? places ? nations? religions?

again everyone is welcome..

It would ahve to depend on the individual.

I love music especially heavy metal, I use it as a mood control, I listen to it to forget about everything, I listen to it to inspire my art/writing. I can't bear silence.

But as for it influencing my thoughts, no, it does nothave that effect on me.

Back in the 80's early 90's bands like Judas Priest were in court battling it out, because stupid people did stupid thngs and blamed their music.

Music has it's own genre of fashion, and with that fashion you have reputations...some people play up the part of a Goth, Metal Head, Emo, Rapper etc...

Pathetic really.

Agreed ....yet what about the many deaths in the U.S and other countries which were directly blamed on rock music with people like ...manson ....pantera...etc...as well rap music too....

although it is pathetic...dont you think it is probable moe?

and although far fetched i know ...and needs alot of proofs and evidence...

can music urge you to KILL for instance..?

Music is a powerful tool in triggering different emotions within us.
A romantic song may help us think of someone special, a sad song may make us dwell in our own sorrows. A patriotic song will make us feel encouraged and proud or it may make us feel rage of an injustice done.

There have been many cases of suicides especially teen suicides after hearing certain songs, but the songs or lyrics cannot be blamed, there are many other factors (perhaps psychological) on why someone will choose suicide.
Especially in US ppl are readily willing to blame on something that may have attributed but not necessirly caused instead of digging deeper to uncover the issues.

'can music urge you to KILL for instance..?' torture wont make me kill some, how could music acheve that?

The person would have to have the intention of doing something like that already in their head, but as R said, the music (not lyrics) could give them the courage they need.

Oh you want me there too...I don't dream that often, and when I do I don't remember them, so it would be a waste of time...
