well, ghosts are usually thought of as the confused or "stuck" ones, i somtimes think of them as echos. (sorry about spelling) spirits are the ones that "see". although when i ask it was really to get other peoples opinions and not to preach what i already know/wonder.

Felicity, I didn't get the part addressed to me. Are you upset on me because I told that your creative writings need to be more concise and free of errors?

I'm sorry if I have hurt you, but know for sure that if you write something I find appreciable, I'll bow down before you.

On the topic: I don't believe in Ghosts and Spirits.

Thankyou Suddha for answering, and at least acknowledging that i wrote it.
If you bowed, so would i.
If dissapointed is upset then it was because you thought it pointless even responding to what "happened"/"this occurence", and went for a low jibe about grammar.

Alex Alex, christians can't even agree with each other, like the jahovahs witnesses that come to my door you quote somone elses words,
I think of the soul as an energy, i also believe in reincarnation, some christians are insulted when i say this.
Why is reincarnation only possible for jesus?

Deluded people in the buddhist belief are thought to have acheived that status. So their energy has to start again.
Deluded as in they thought the wrong things important, and spent their life going in the wrong spiritual direction.

You say you live in UK. Are you English, or an immigrant? It kinda matters.

And regarding the "occurence" - it has no philosophical connotation whatsoever. It sounds more like a fiction in the mind of a young girl, a cvasi-spiritist piece of writing.

I don't know that it does matter, unless your going to be racist? I was born in the uk.
Are you regarding philosophy as a static subject?
I'm not religious, so i thought i'd ask people in this group for their opinions.
Not being religious and having had this experience and others, (though not as intense) i consider it a point for disscusion, are u sure you can spare the time for this?
I didn't make it up and am not insulted about your views, i've read some of the other topics and can see how some people will react.
Have you heard of dyslexia?

I believe u are a good person, but if u generalise like that then,?.

There are so many people out there that have 'seen' or 'felt' spirits or ghosts which have made them believe in something that some disregard or find it illogical.
The feelings are so intense and powerful that it has become a life changing experience for them.

remiding me of the movie 'the sixth sense', have u seen it?

It rings a bell, is it the one with the boy who see's "dead people"? If it is it's been mentioned before.
It's not quite like that, i don't shiver with snot coming down my face, and the dead people don't always appear like that.
Where do people get the idea for these films from?

Actually the movie had a positive message. It may have started showing our fears of the unknown as in ghosts or spirits, but as the movie concluded it played out on how ghosts/spirits roam in our world when their mission is not complete..and when it's finally complete then they leave. U should rent it, it's really an excellent movie.

If it is that film i have seen it, a friend insisted i watch it, he has never seen any and was quite frustrated by that.lol.
I do think of people who get very defensive about it, why?, does it scare them?, Are they hiding somthing?, Wouldn't they want your passed loved ones to still be there?
I realise that last comment could cause distress and am sorry to any one who feels this.
R, have u ever experienced anything like this or is it friends of yours who you know arn't lying?

I think the ones who believe in spirits, become defensive cuz they feel their mental stability is being questioned.
The unknown always triggers a fear deep within us, especially since ghosts/spirits are associated with death and death is a huge mystery to all of us.
I personally haven't had that type of experience, do i believe in it? in general, No. But i don't exclude the possiblity that there's something bigger than us. I respect anyone that the believes in something wholeheartedly.
