Topic: Where do people write?
My problem is when I am home in front of the computer, my mind stops. But, if I'm in a cafe or a boring meeting, I can write and write. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I write anywhere where I can have a peaceful time for thinking yet I write when my emotions are high in every emotional way. I write all that I can let out which when that happens I tend to write things I keep personal to myself.. I feel it is healthy to write out of mood if you can no matter what it may look like, We are our own worst critics believe me I know I am, But we must write what we have inside, I was once told by a friend, Poetry and other creative writing is a portal of the heart and soul.. It is up to us to get what we feel we need to get out, We need to get the best out of ourselves.. Hope I made sense

I have the same problem at times. It depends on my mood but I find listening to music helps. Any kind of background noise works. For some reason complete silence distracts me...

Well I write just about anywhere the mood takes me, although it's usually at the PC.

Writers never go anywhere without a pen a paper. I have had the urge to write while i was in the toilet, so yeah, there is a nice notebook and pen on the floor now just in case.

Hey Bill, I understand you perfectly, sometimes the words just come and you can't stop, but then you want to write something and sit down in front your computer...nothing comes out, specially at home after a hard work day or with your family around, it's hard..The worst that happens to me very often, is when I am on my way to somewhere and start thinking in something, a story, a poem, a thought, I finish it in my mind and it's ready to be written, but then I finally get to somewhere where I can take a pen or a pc and write it down and it's gone, that exact feeling, the perfect words are lost now, because you never now when the moment can meet the thought and something great will be done.
Anyway everybody, great to meet people that share my passion.

I write anywhere I can. Anytime. On paper (have always ready my notebook no matter where I am), PC, laptop, wall....
Usually, if I get some good idea, it is running trough my mind all day, I make different scenaries in my head and I think about it when I go to sleep and even draem it sometimes.
Then, usually, I get up in the middle of the night, when idea is totally ready and then I write.
Sometimes i go from party or some place if I ahve something on my mind, to write it down somewhere.
Once it happened that I went to toilet while was at some party in some club and stayed there half of night, finishing and sorting out some thoughts in paper!

The actual writing is the last stage of the process for me, so I usually do it wherever the desktop is at. Most of my work is in the planning, and I usually do that walking around creating wordwebs or mindmaps to show how everything is connected together. Once I'm comfortable with the story, then I sit in a quiet place and write. === Original Message === My problem is when I am home in front of the computer, my mind stops. It's strange. I usually write when I'm dead tired trying to go to sleep. I'll be laying in bed or about to go to bed and BOOM! Super Pen Powers Activate!

Cesar, I loved your comment! It was concise and to the point. I agree. Whenever I try to fall asleep, an onslaught of quirky characters and plot dilemmas battle for immediate attention. But, usually, I am too tired to get back to the computer. I finally wised up and placed a notepad next to the bed, where I could jot down those ideas and grab some shuteye in peace!
