Yay first message! I hope more people join... Who are your favourite females in Metal?
Mine are Tarja Turunen, Cristina Scabbia, Anneke van Giersbergen (she changed her voice though, and The Gathering is doing a weird rock thing now) and that's pretty much all. Someone that annoys me is Martina Hornbacher-Astner. Her voice is crap-ish. At least in Alas (Erik Rutan of Morbid Angel's new band/project). I haven't heard her sing in Therion or anything else though.

The bolt thrower and holly mosses girls are a great example of TRUE METAL FEMALES, even Angela is it.. they're fucking extreme man! I can mention too many more.. but neways my favorite is RACHEL FROM SINISTER! that's the fucking attitude that a girl must have on a metal band! ...not shittie "angelical voices"... metal wasn't created to be soft.. metal must be agressive!
I'm not saying gothic metal musicians are bad, but that music shouldn't be called metal.. i hate that combination between "angelical voices" and "demonic shouts".. it's just horrible! (the same about the doom, black, and other agressive styles that have piano, soprano voices or symphonic sounds, like symphonic black, folk black, ugly doom like theatre of tragedy, etc).. it's good music (technically talking), but it's not metal! (at least as i know metal must be)..
Another comment.. WHAT A FUCK IS DOING ERIK RUTAN, A DEATH METAL GOD, WITH A BAND LIKE ALAS?!! this world is going so crazy! that's a blasphemy!
(mm.. sorry about my bad english, i'm mexican... =S)
