Free Tibet? Please take a moment to read and understand!


Help spread the word so people have a better understanding of what Tibet was like under Dalai Lama's rule! I urge you to please do your own research and try to understand the Dalai Lama before u come to a conclusion. Protesters say "free Tibet!". Under Dalai Lama, 95% of his people were slaves. They were tortured and allowed to be sold and traded like animals and lived like peasants before China went in and abolish slavery. The land was then divided and given to the slaves and the Monks were supported by the government. Under the Dalai Lama, 9 year old boys were used as sex slaves. 11 year old virgin girl's skin were made into drums. The slave's legs were cut off to make horns. Slave's were killed because skulls was needed for rituals! The people weren't allowed to have any type of education unless they become monks and only 11% had any type of education. I know it's hard to believe coming from the Dalai Lama, someone that's suppose to represent non-violence and compassion, that's why I suggest you look into it yourself.



I feel people should really do their research before they make a decision about Tibet. I'm not saying I support all of China's government's views, but what the Tibetan people are doing is unfair! Tibet has been a part of China, and it has put in millions of dollars a year into improving Tibet's infrastructure. From schools to running water and transportation. People supporting "Free Tibet" claims Tibet doesn't belong to China. But if you look at all the Western maps that were produced before the 1950's, it clearly states that it's part of China.



Did you know that the Tibetans or any minority in China gets special treatments? The one child policy doesn't even apply to them. They don't have to pay taxes. They have free education and medical. They are able to get into a University even when they get a lower test score than a Chinese. The monks don't even work and are supported by the central government.



I know China is not a perfect country and many things needs to be changed. But I feel for the amount of time since they've opened up, they have made considerable progress. We need to be patient and understand that the constant pressure we are put on them will only have a negative effect and will only hurt the people.



The Olympics should not be used as a vehicle for any group to propagate their own political agenda. It has nothing to do with politics but sports! The athletes worked very hard to get to where they are and it's a shame that the fun is ruined because of it.
