Because I know it's been a good while... Updates (trying to keep it short, I promise) What's coming up... . Had a really productive talk with family trust (Isaac's, not mine) feel like after 8 years of trying to get help, they may very well come through now that there's a new person in charge . Had some really big news and if it comes to pass then we'll be moving. After talking with Teri (Isaac's ex-wife) she has agreed to forgive 60% of what he owes in child support if we move to the Arlington, TX area to help her out with the kids, Isaac would get to be closer to his children and we'd not have soo much to contend with in child support stuff. Now Isaac and I don't really care for Texas (the heat among other things) BUT _IF_ it means that we can get our lives back on track and some semblance of normalcy then we'll take it. I figure if we move there (and the trust may very well help with the move if we can find the promise of work and cheaper than $1,000 a month in rent) then we can work on it for the next year or two and then see if we're able to consider moving up north and/or to the New England area again sometime after that (we really enjoy greener areas that have full seasons and nice snowy winters like CT, VT, VA, MD area). The even bigger news would be that if we can find stable income for the next 12 months or so, then we're able to consider getting help with a home that'd be big enough for the kids to come stay with us some of the time. . Actively looking for work, housing and/or a living situation in or near Arlington, TX (and/or Dallas - Forth Worth area) hoping to find something between now and the first week of January 2009, but the sooner the better, it's going to be a long process in transitioning (getting the divorce/child support stuff settled and building enough income, jobs and a stable life enough to be considered for buying a home as it is. Anyone have any leads in the Arlington, TX and/or DFW area? _______________________________________________________________ Still working on... . Still working on wrongful firing suit, looks like it'll be a while till the final results are in. . Still looking for work in the Boston area until we can move that is (around midweek last week found out there's apparently something called a "hiring freeze" for Boston and surrounding areas taking affect immediately - will start with gov, transpiration and state workers... then trickle down from there) . Been having issues with our Landlords saying one thing then recanting it later, a bit problematic for us at the moment, especially when they raised the rent and gave me two days to come up with the additional funds . Did find help (not gov help, short on that around here) for the rent for this month and next, now to work on heating since it's getting colder. . Isaac got his official diagnosis for Asperger's, now to get the neurological for back up (he's trying to work on potential disability to help with job and/or child support stuff). . Got food assistance, needed it now we can eat for the next two weeks . Didn't end up getting much for the stuff I was trying to sell, but at least we have rent (even knowing they are getting a month early, the landlords still complain about us not coming up with the extra in rent they want - The wife is pregnant again, I think that's why the sudden change).
