...ah yes, the fundamental pre-existential questions of identity. I Think, Therefore Who Am I? What is the purpose of my life? I stick my finger into existence---it smells of nothing. Where am I? What is this thing called the world? Who is it that has lured me into the thing, and now leaves me here? How did I come into the world? Why was I not consulted? Why was I not asked about it, why was I not informed of the rules and regulations but just thrust into the ranks as if I had been bought by a peddling shanghaier of human beings? How did I get involved in this big enterprise called actuality? Why should I be involved? Isn't it a matter of choice? And if I am compelled to be involved, where is the manager—I have something to say about this. Is there no manager? To whom shall I make my complaint? I feel as if I were a piece in a game of chess, when my opponent says of it: That piece cannot be moved. If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?
