สถาบันการฝึกอบรมมาร์เก็ตเพลส นั้นเป็นสถาบันที่อยู่ภายใต้พันธกิจมาร์เก็ตเพลส ตั้งอยู่ที่เมืองปีนัง ประเทศมาเลเซีย สถาบันนี้ได้ก่อตั้งขึ้นโดย อาจารย์อับราฮัมและอาจารย์ไอรีน แกน ตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2538 พระผู้เป็นเจ้าได้ทรงโปรดนำอาจารย์ทั้งสอง ในการจัดตั้งพันธกิจมาร์เก็ตเพลส เพื่อที่จะมีส่วนรับใช้ ในกลุ่มคนทำงานและกลุ่มนักธุรกิจ หลังจากที่อาจารย์ทั้งสองได้รับใช้ โดยเป็นศิษยาภิบาลอาวุโส ที่คริสตจักรบัพติส เมืองปีนัง มา 12 ปี การตัดสินใจนี้ได้รับอิทธิพลส่วนใหญ่จาก ขณะที่ท่านทั้งสองกำลังศึกษา ในวิทยาลัยรีเจนท์ประเทศแคนนาดา ท่านทั้งสองได้ค้นพบ กระบวนการที่จะสามารถสนับสนุน คริสเตียนในสถานที่ทำงาน และจากนี้ไปวัตถุประสงค์ของพันธกิจมาร์เก็ตเพลส จะมีเพื่อที่จะส่งเสริมสนับสนุน ทางด้านการให้ความรู้ทางด้านอาชีพ, การส่งเสริมความสามารถ/ความถนัดเฉพาะทาง และกระบวนการเริ่มต้นประกอบธุรกิจ
ในปี พ.ศ. 2542 พระผู้เป็นเจ้าได้โปรดให้มิชชันนารีที่รับใช้ในประเทศไทยมีจำนวนมากขึ้น และกลุ่มมิชชันนารีเหล่านี้ได้เข้ามาที่เมืองปีนัง ซึ่งเป็นสถานที่ที่สะดวกสำหรับทำการต่ออายุวีซ่า และผ่านการติดต่อนี้ อาจารย์อับราฮัมและอาจารย์ไอรีน จึงได้ทราบถึงประเด็นความต้องการต่างๆในประเทศไทย โดยเฉพาะทางด้านการจัดหลักสูตรการฝึกอบรม และ การส่งเสริมอาชีพให้กับเด็กๆที่อยู่ในสถานดูแลเด็กในบริเวณประเทศไทยตอนบน

Introducing Marketplace Institute of Training

Marketplace Institute of Training is under the covering of Marketplace Ministries in Penang, Malaysia, which is led by Abraham & Irene Gan. In 1995, after twelve years as senior pastor of Baptist Church in Penang. Pastor Abraham and his wife, Sister Irene, were led by the Lord to pioneer Marketplace Ministries to impact workers and business people. This decision was much influenced by their time in Regent College, Canada where they discovered the strategic role of equipping Christians for the workplace. Hence, the purpose of Marketplace Ministries Penang is to promote career education, professional excellence and business entrepreneurship.
In 1999, the Lord brought an increasing number of missionaries who were serving in Thailand to Marketplace Center Penang as a convenient lodging place while waiting to renew visa. Through there contacts, Abraham & Irene were introduced to the various needs in Thailand, especially the challenge to providing training and alternative career options for the graduating children from the numerous residential homes in northern Thailand.
