In the village of jarjou3a, which is one of the most beautiful villages of south Lebanon... In one of this villages's houses, i was born in 22-12-1986, from a hard working father and housewife mother. A brother for 5: Sawsan, Ali, Roula, Marwan. I grew up in a quiet and a regular way, and since being the youngest of my brothers i caught up everybody's attention. I grew up being a solid man thanks to my father, and a soft god fearing person thanks to my mother. My singing talent appeared ever since my childhood, and the school i was enrolled into, was the first stage in my long singing trip. I performed many school anthems and won the "Best singing voice" prize.
I grew up listening to Fairuz, Wadih El Safi, Warda and Abed El Halim, memorizing their songs quickly. I used to sing anywhere i went to to the point of annoying people.
Although getting a lot of encouragement from everyone around me, I never felt that i might become a famous artist someday, having his own songs, making his own one stage concerts and appearing on television screens. Knowing that my brother Marwan stepped into this business ten years ago.
One day i heard that the Lebanese Broadcasting Company LBC bought the broadcasting license of the world known star academy show, and i was already a fan of this show's French version. I was thrilled and i signed up for the casting. After many casting sessions at the LBC locals, the jury apologized for accepting me.
I didn't know the main reason for their apology. But i then realized that it might be the lack of dancing skills. Star academy doesn't only depend on beautiful voices but also on dancing and acting. I didn't feel depressed and i signed up for the arabic version of "Pop idol" Superstar, showing on Future TV. I stood up in front of the jury Mr. Elias Rahbani, Miss Fadia Tomb and the composer Abdallah El Kooud. I got accepted very quickly and advanced through stages reaching the final one. There was my . As soon as the show was over, i started recording my first song "Bi Khyal El Wardi" lyrics by Nizar Francis, composed by Samir Sfeir. After that i performed in a duet with star academy's Tunisian star Bahaa El Kafi titled "Aa Droub El Hawa" lyrics by Nizar Francis, composed by the singer Chady Ibrahim. This experience caught the press's attention for it being the first time a singer from Superstar sings with a singer from Star Academy. This artwork was adopted by "Sawt El Mousika" the Lebanese radio station and turned it into an intro for "Kosass Hobb", a radio series.
A from future TV called me and suggested that i present a song for the "Sahar El Layali" show, and i was meanwhile working on a new song for me. And since the work wasn't ready to be launched, I thought about renewing an old song. After many searches i decided to work on a song, people loved in the mid-nineties, for a singer i truly respect "Nawal El Zoghbi". I sang the "Gharib El Rai" song and i was surprised of the audience's positive reaction toward my brave decision of renewing a song that belongs to an artist boldly known in the singing industry. What assured me that this experience was a successful one, was inviting me as an honor guest to PEPSI TOP 20 show on Rotana television to perform the same song, and it was distributed after that to local and arab radio stations, and was widely written about in the Arab magazines.
Talking about press and media, allow me to thank every journalist that has written or spoken about me, supported me and believed in my talent. I promise everyone who loves Houssam El Chami to give my best.
My zodiac sign is Capricorn, I love swiming and horseback riding, my role model is Wadih El Safi and Abed El Halim Hafez, I love Fadel Shaker, Kazem El saher and Amr Diab; Zekra, Nawal El Zoghbi and Samira Said. My favorite color is black, my favorite animal is the horse and cat, I hate lying, love singing sleeping and making phone calls. That's me.. I hope that I get at least a little spot in your hearts.
